#1000HappyDays #Day3: Ideas come before Wealth

A lot of people think that if they are given money or capital, they can make themselves wealthy. Some people pray hard for God to give them the lucky numbers in the lottery. I am one of those dreamers.  After a discussion with my wife, I realized that ideas must come first before wealth.  If you have a million-peso idea, you can actually just start small and make it big.  If you do not have a good idea, no matter how much money is given to you, you will not be able to prosper.

Today, I realized why Solomon asked for wisdom over wealth.  Wealth can easily be generated if you have wisdom.  I want to develop my ability to generate wealth-inducing ideas.  I want to create ways to help people develop their creativity.  I want to increase my wisdom.

#Prayer: Today, I ask that I will be blessed with the wisdom to solve my problems and to help other people in the best way.

#10000HappyDays #Day2: Forgiving the Past

There comes a time that you have to start forgiving your past self.  A lot of people get stuck in the past.  We often blame the past for our present misfortunes.  Usually, we wish to have a time machine and fantasize about changing that certain incident in the past.   When we fight with people, chances are, we bring up the past.  To really move on towards a better self, one has to forgive and as much as possible forget the past.  Learn from the past and put it in your heart and mind. Its lessons are important and not the traumatic incident. 

#stress - The Past is one of the biggest stressors in life.  The Past contains our regrets, failures, bloopers, embarrassing moments, and moments of indecision. Thinking too much about the past makes it more difficult to move on.  One has to learn how to channel this energy and focus towards the future. It is a big challenge; but, by learning selective amnesia, you will be more confident in facing the present and the future.

#force - Today, I forced myself to forget the past and do everything to not bring up the past.  I make sure I learned my lesson from these past events and make sure that if the situation comes up again, I will react differently.

My present situation also is a bit tough as I am in the crossroads when it comes to my career. I had my past failures and success and I make sure that I will not live in the past. The landscape has evolved and it is continuing to change, it is important for us to adapt and even anticipate the change in order to succeed. I will be taking a lot of risks in the coming days and I am hoping that my gut feel is right.

#10000HappyDays #Day1: Starting the Process of Changing for the Better (Kaizen)

Challenge Accepted! Bring it on!!!

I tried several times to change my mindset, habits, and attitudes to "ideal".  Normally, I would have to beginner's luck to receive rewards at an early stage of the process of Kaizen or changing for the better. The rewards usually bring moments of joy and even happiness. Instead of pushing forward and continuing the process, I usually get contended and end up being contended with the initial success.  Afterwards, regression happens.  The cycle has been repeated many times over.  From my studies to my work to my weight loss program and even to my blogging. I always blame myself for having such weak willpower. This time though, I want to reinforce my commitment by having an online journal of my path to change.  Today, I want restart my 10,000 Happy Days challenge. The next paragraph were my thoughts in the past that I decided to rewrite and repost.

My Dream Job

Everything that became big started with a vision.  2014 was very tough for me when it comes to my job or business. The joy seems to be gone and it is so hard to go on if you already fall out of love or have a broken heart. There is hope in 2015 as I want to reinvent myself and  really pursue things that would really make me happy.  So I asked myself several questions to know what is in my heart or in my mind.  Today, I am going to answer what is my ideal job.

My dream job is to basically write and travel.  I want to promote my city and my country. I want to write about how fun and beautiful it is in the Philippines.  I want to see the sights and take awesome pictures. I wanna experience the festivals and show the world that it is super fun here.  I want to showcase local goods and services and somehow show others that Filipinos can create something spectacular. I want to show how delicious our food. I want to give useful information and highlight the good side of my country.

I may not have the funds now but if I ever I have enough I would surely buy tickets, a good camera, and a sturdy travelling bag. That is my dream job.  To be a full-time blogger/writer/photographer/social media marketer. I will start small. I will start with the little resource that I have and develop my skills.  Who knows, an opportunity might come sooner than expected.

I will pray that this will happen and I would really spread the word that my dream job started with answering a simple question.  How about you, have ever thought of your dream job?

My Alternate Universe

I believe that we can exist in many planes of existence. The real world is stressful and most of the time, imperfect. Sometimes, we all wish to be different or to be someone else. Many of us would want to escape and live the life that we thought is perfect.  We can actually do that, it is called Fiction. that is why movie makers and writers make a lot of money via fiction because it solves the desire to break away from a seemingly problematic life.  In fiction, everything is possible. As in everything.  Unlike in real life where the term everything is possible is becoming a cliche, in fiction, it is the norm. 

For 2015, this blog is all about fiction. This all about exploring the what ifs and what could have beens. I would not be writing so much here unless I want to explore a different possibility. Hopefully, this blog will be about sensational possibilities.  It will be about miracles, prayers, and how long shots can change the world. 

I am just write whatever stories that pop up in mind and hopefully, it can help anyone who has the time to read this in a way nonsensical blog. This is a challenge to show if I can really write the weird things that I sometimes wished to be real.

Buying a VW

If I win the lotto, I will probably but a Volkswagen.  Whether it would be a Polo, Jetta, Beetle, Tuoran, Passat, or Touareg, I really wanna buy one.  VW has a sentimental value to me. My first sales job was in Volkswagen dealership way back. I have mastered the features of these cars and I have dreamed of buying one someday.

Recently, I found out that Volkswagen cars are being sold now in Cebu.  The Iconic Dealership has a display in Ayala Center Cebu.  They are also planning to have a showroom in the North Reclamation Area near SM City Cebu.

Here are 5 good reasons why I'll buy a VW when I win the lotto:

5. Sentimental Value - I have loved these cars for years already and I have somehow followed its development over the years.
4. TDI - Most models sold here in the Philippines would have diesel engines.  The diesel-powered VWs could run around 13 kilometers per liter in the city and could reach 20 km/l in the highway.  Fuel savings will be worth it.  Even with the TDI badge, a Jetta would still be a the perfect sports sedan mixing economy with the fun to drive factor.
3. German Engineering - The Germans are really proud of their cars.  They are known to be more reliable and durable.  German cars usually last longer...Old VW Beetle for example. ;)
2. Design - VW does not change bodies as often unlike other brands that seems to change their car model's looks year after year making the past year's model become "old" immediately.
1. Uniqueness - The Beetle has always been a head turner. In fact my wife would want a VW Beetle Cabriolet if its is available. Since only a few own a VW right now in Cebu, having one would a statement. It is the type of car you will buy to stand out. It is like saying to people "I bought a VW because I can...".

I would really buy at least one when I win the lottery, you better watch out. ;)

Lucky winner wins 215M 6/55 Jackpot

A lucky lotto bettor is now 215 Million Pesos richer as he or she becomes the lone winner of the jackpot of tonight's 6/55 draw.  Finally, somebody won.  I wonder if that person know already.  The winning combination is 04-52-55-38-46-08 .  If you happen to be the winner well I am willing to accept any amount as balato. Congratulations to you!

I did not win today but I will not stop preparing for the day that I will win to arrive.  The odds are so slim but we are all free to dream and to think positive.  Anybody can win in any day so I will never discount the possibility that I would win.

Still NO Winner for 6/55 Draw!! Jackpot to reach 180M

The 6/55 jackpot survived another draw. The latest winning combination was 2-54-6-32-24-25 (6/18/2014). The jackpot then was Php167,654,824.  Well, the pot is getting bigger and bigger and if you win it, you are one really lucky person.

What would you do if you hit the jackpot? Would you give your friends some balato? I asked my friends what would I give them if I hit the jackpot:

Lotlot and Angela said: Hummer!

Ayeen wants House and Lot and a Toyota Prado.

Rose said she will buy jewelries.

Clyde would want guitars.

Nezte will ask for condos.

It's easy to imagine what to buy when money will not be an issue.  A lot of us becomes very impractical when something is for FREE. Winning the lottery has a big responsibility coming with it. Can you imagine how many people would ask something from you? Do you think you can be so generous with your winnings? What do you think? Would even let anyone know?

If I were a lotto winner, I would really give back something to many people.  I do not like the idea of keeping everything to myself.  I would probably not tell them that I won because news will spread fast but I would give them something. Something really really specially. I could buy someone a house, a car, or even even invest in a business.  I would probably start a company and employ some friends and family. In a way, I would let them somehow earn it as if I did not give it to them directly.

It is fun imagine this scenario but this could happen early next week. What do you think???

Philippines 6/55 Grand Lotto Jackpot to reach over 150 Million Pesos

In the 6/55 Lottery draw last Saturday, the estimated jackpot if there was a winner was over 148 Million Pesos.  That is around $3.7 Million.  In America, that would not be so big but in the Philipines, you can live like a king for years with that money. The winning numbers were 12-17-37-48-43-34. And guess what??? Nobody won!

The next draw will be tomorrow. A 20-peso bet (2 quarters in dollars)  could win you around 160 Million pesos or $4 Million. What can you do with a 160 Million bucks???  That is basically the inspiration of this blog. This blog is all about preparing myself in case I win tomorrow night.

What would be the first thing I buy?
Will I tell anybody I won?
How the heck would I claim the prize?

So many possibilities but you have to be ready for inevitability of winning the lottery. heheheh

The New Blog Name

From ifiwereblank to ifiwerealottowinner. Well, I realized that we all have fantasies and most of the time the issue is just money.  Many people wished that they have money to buy this stuff or go somewhere really nice.  This blog will be about fantasies or the things I would do when I win the lottery.

Winning the lottery is a long shot but it would not hurt to know what would you do should it happen. At least, I am more prepared than the the typical winner.  This exercise will also help me somehow appreciate what I have.   There is no limit to imagination and if it becomes reality, I am pretty sure I would be in control.

While doing this blog, I will also keep on betting the lottery. This blog is like saying to God or the universe, that I am ready to receive the blessings. Hopefully, you would give me some ideas of your fantasies as well.

April 2014 volume 1 Pacquiao post fight

Well, Manny Pacquiao got his redemption yesterday. Here's the if I were I would for the week.

If I were Manny Pacquiao, I would start training for the next fight. Age and the BIR is almost catching up with him. He gas probably be just around 3 fights left in the world class level. It's time to start saving for retirement.

If I were Floyd Mayweather, I would make sign up for the highest paying fight in recent years. He shouldn't wait for that one lucky punch from an upstart to end his dream of retiring undefeated.

If I were the BIR, I would coax Manny to be a model citizen and not threaten him with lawsuits. The tax should encourage people to pay taxes not by acting it's martial law. There must be a better way.

If I were Bradley, I would move on and seek other belts. With so many title belts available, Tim can surely get a title fight in his next scheduled bout. The public wouldn't want a rematch.

If I were Mommy Dionesia, I would keep on praying for Manny. No matter how people make fun of you, you shouldn't be deterred to display your faith.

If I were J.Co Donuts, I would Open a branch in Cebu

I can't figure out why J.Co Donuts have not opened a branch in Cebu. They have one already in Cagayan De Oro City, yet there's not even a buzz of a branch in Cebu. There is still store space in SM City Cebu or in SM Consolacion and Ayala Center Cebu is even expanding. A new Robinsons mall is opening at the reclamation area and that big SM mall in SRP yet, there's a possibility that there is no J.Co store in these malls.  They should have a branch in Cebu ASAP. Krispy Kreme, I think is doing really well and there's room for competition in the premium doughnut segment. J.Co has fast becoming a favorite pasalubong for some people in the Philippines and there are long lines in almost all there branches. Cebu is practically a gateway to several provinces in the Philippines so it is but logical that a branch should be set up in the Queen City of the south. What's taking them so long?  Hopefully, they will be here next year or sooner.

October 2013: Pork Barrel, Zamboanga, and More

It's been a long time since I updated this blog. A lot has happened and I guess the Philippines is still alive and kicking. Janet Napoles happened and no politician has admitted of being of guilty. No politico has been arrested either in connection with the scam of the ages.  It is quiet funny that a couple of months ago we are debating about buying a billion worth of condoms because they say that overpopulation is the cause of poverty. Heck, how much of the billions worth of contraceptives would end up in a Napoles-type NGO or in the pockets of the corrupt.  We have a lot of money but I do not know where it goes.

If I were one of the politicians with Napoles scam exposure, I would take a leave of absence and prepare a very good defense. I should hire the best lawyer and make an explanation not based on mere legal technicality because people are furious and they do not want a BS story.

If I were a lawmaker, I will not prioritize soft projects. Maybe I could live some funds in the local hospitals or give Philhealth membership to some of my constituents but other than that PDAF should be spent on hard projects. Something that can been seen and used. Not a bridge to nowhere or waiting sheds or basketball courts. How about lighting, roads, irrigation, sea walls, dikes, or reforestation. 

If I were P-Noy and other powers that be, I will also use my DAP to help Zamboanga and other deprived areas in Mindanao. They could have funded power generation projects than just think about RH Bill and contraceptives. 

If I were Napoles, I would spill the beans on who are the ones who pocketed the millions of money wasted by having projects coursed through her bogus NGOs.  Although this would highly unlikely because it is not easy to double cross powerful people. 

If I were a voter in this coming election (which I am), I make sure that I will vote for someone new.  A lot of politicos have been in position for too long and many have been brainwashed in the system of patronage and corruption. Voting someone new and someone without any ties with a sitting politician would be a start. I know these candidates will be long shots but if it takes a ling shot to improve this country, I will surely glad to let my vote speak.
